BJ’s journey with horseback riding began at the young age of twelve, sparking a passion that has since become a cherished family tradition. Alongside his wife Tiffany and two of his children, Sadie and Simon, BJ spends much of his time in the saddle, with the family actively competing in rodeos. “The most challenging part of horseback riding is teaching kids how to ride,” BJ admits. Yet, the rewards of this shared activity extend far beyond competition.
For the family, riding and caring for their horses is more than just a hobby; it is a way of life that fosters strong bonds and teaches valuable life lessons. BJ emphasizes that the responsibility, integrity, and dedication required in horsemanship are vital skills that his children are learning through their involvement. The family regularly participates in events like barrel racing, goat tying, and team roping, with each member proudly achieving their own collection of prizes won over the years.
At the heart of their riding adventures are their three horses: Tracker, a thoroughbred, and Remi and Thunder, two quarter horses. BJ finds relaxation in riding, enjoying the peace it brings and the satisfaction of teaching his horses new skills. For BJ and his family, the equestrian lifestyle is not just about the thrill of competition but about the joy of spending time together and the continuous learning and growth that comes with it.
