EIFS stands for “exterior insulation and finishing system” and is a type of exterior for buildings which offers an insulated finished surface for exterior walls and waterproofing in an integrated composite material system. EIFS is traditionally attached to the outside of exterior walls with mechanical fasteners or adhesives (acrylic based or cementitious). EIFS is attached to gypsum board, cement board, or concrete substrates with adhesives.

EIFS is available in a number of system configurations to meet any climate or building condition and numerous durable textures and colors to complete any architect’s vision.  More than 1 in every 11 commercial buildings in the United States features Dryvit products on the exterior.
