Winters in the upper Midwest can be unpredictable which can present a challenge when insulating steel buildings. A-Line Builders of Fargo was selected as the general contractor and steel building erector for this project and selected us as the subcontractor to complete the insulation scope of this 45,000 ft. metal building. With winter quickly approaching traditional insulation methods were not ideal so A-Line and Kinzler worked together to set a schedule to get the structure dried out so that we could insulate the building from the inside. Insulating the building from the inside once the structure was dry saved substantial downtime that snow, rain, or ice could have caused. High-R Metal Building Insulation was installed after filling any condensation prone areas with blown fiberglass. Then, Kinzler spray foamed around windows, doors, eaves, and gable ends to properly air seal this space. Since purlin depths ranged from 10″-12″ we were able to achieve R values of R-40 on the ceilings and R-30 on the walls. A big thanks to A-Line Builders of Fargo for allowing us to help you on this project. For more information on HIGH-R, visit www.high-r.com
