These tax credits will have numerous benefits including improved energy efficiency, reduced energy bills, and improved home comfort.<\/p>\n<p>These tax credits can be combined with local incentives for even bigger savings! IRA tax credits include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Residential retrofit incentives<\/li>\n<li>New and retrofit commercial incentives<\/li>\n<li>New home incentives<\/li>\n<li>Efficient building envelopes through building codes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here are some key points from the Act.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Residential retrofit incentives\n<ul>\n<li>Previous law\u2019s credit restored through 2022. Enhanced credit amount applies from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2032<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>30% of insulation and air sealing materials up to $1,200 (per year)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Credit available on a yearly basis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Home energy audits covered up to $150<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>New Home Incentives\n<ul>\n<li>Builder credit of $2,500 for single family homes that meet ENERGY STAR Version 3.2 and meet 2021 IECC prescriptive envelope standards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Builder credit of $5,000 for homes that meet DOE Zero Energy Ready Home standard<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Builder credit of $500 \/ $1,000 for multifamily units, with incentives increasing to $2,500 \/ $5,000 when meeting prevailing wage requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous law\u2019s credit restored through 2022. Enhanced credit amount applies from January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2032<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Insulation &amp; Energy Efficiency<\/h3>\n<p>Insulation is a critical factor in determining your home\u2019s\u00a0<strong>energy and cost efficiency<\/strong>. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that homeowners may\u00a0save 15% on HVAC costs\u00a0by installing insulation and air sealing their homes.<\/p>\n<p>The US Department of Energy warns homeowners that just 1 in 5 homes constructed prior to 1980 are sufficiently insulated.
